2007 Gala

The third annual Children of the City fundraising gala took place at the Central Park Boathouse on March 21, 2007 and proved to be a night of surprises and stars. Master of Ceremonies, Steve Shirippa and fellow Sopranos star Tony Sirico helped Executive Director Joyce Mattera welcome guest of honor Richard Jefferson of the New Jersey Nets, David Tyree of the New York Giants, singers Pedro Capo and Sylvia Tuson to the Sunset Park based organization. Also on hand, were Jaid Barrymore, Liz Derringer and artist Jeffrey Dread who auctioned off a painting to help Children of the City raise additional funds. Jessica Blum represented Borough President Marty Markowitz with a proclamation to honor Children of the City's tireless efforts to end the effects of poverty on families in Southwest Brooklyn.
